Drag Queen Storytime (and more) at the Vermillion Public Library
By: Jon Hansen, South Dakota State Representative and Speaker Pro Tempore of the South Dakota House.
This Saturday, the taxpayer funded Vermillion Public Library will host “Drag Queen Storytime” for kids. Leading the event will be a cross dressing man who goes by the stage name “Vodka Shakers.” More than just reading books, the children’s drag event will also feature drag queen dancing.
Drag, of course, is mostly cross-dressing men parading around as hyper-sexualized women. Drag is hyper-sexual by its very nature—and the Vermillion Public Library wants your kid to take part in it.
In case you’ve never seen what goes on at some of these drag queen story hours, here’s one example of a cross-dressing man at a drag queen storytime teaching little kids how to twerk by bending over and shaking his butt up and down in a humping motion. Take a look for yourself:
Here’s another recent drag event put on for children where drag queens danced in front of a neon sign that reads, “it’s not going to lick itself” and took cash from the kids like strippers from their patrons:
This is all, of course, a completely shameful thing to do to little kids. But, this kind of behavior is undoubtedly celebrated and welcomed by the same people who will host the children’s drag queen event this weekend in Vermillion.
Is this really what we want to model to children? Is exposing young children to this kind of cross-dressing burlesque appropriate? Is this really a proper use of taxpayer funds? Of course not.
We wonder why many young men are so lost these days–with no sense of direction or purpose. Perhaps it’s because our culture has essentially stopped extolling virtue in young men. We’ve almost completely stopped teaching the value of prudence, temperance, justice, and fortitude. Many struggle or refuse to see any good in masculinity and instead think that being masculine is inherently toxic. So rather than embracing virtue as a model for young men, we increasingly reject it, and in its place our culture promotes hyper-sexualized, cross-dressing drag queens as role models to little children.
Contact Daniel Burniston, the Vermillion Public Library Director, at Daniel.Burniston@vermillionpubliclibrary.org or 605-677-7060 and tell him to stop making little children political pawns in the seemingly endless promotion of the radical left’s gender ideology.
Stop the sexual grooming of young children.
Just let kids be kids.
